The Honiara City Council Law Enforcement (HCC) division has received a new vehicle from the HCC Executive and management.
The new vehicle, which will be used for city patrols is the second to be allocated to the division this year.
Chairman of the Law Enforcement Division Cr. Charles Aiwosuga said,it has been a priority for the current HCC executive and the management to assist the Division with logistical support to implement the Council’s Ordinances.
“One of the main priorities of the current Executive is to ensure all the ordinances of the HCC are well implemented and complied with.
“The new City Patrol vehicle is to assist our Law Enforcement unit carry out their duties in monitoring the ordinances effectively and precisely,” he said
Chairman Aiwosuga urged the officers within the Division that the Executive and the management would like to see the vehicle is respected and to be used for its intended purpose.
In his response, Head of the Division Robert Madeo thanked the Chairman, Executive and Management for the new vehicle.
“As the Divisional Head, I am so pleased that my division has been boosted in terms of logistical support with the delivery of our new vehicle.
“On behalf of my division, I would like to thank the current Executive under the leadership of Mayor Alfrence Fatai, our Chairman and the HCC management for the purchase of this new city patrol vehicle,” Madeo said
“I am confident to say that it will help us with our duties around the City enforcing the Council’s ordinances and at the same time assisting other divisions with their tasks,” he added
Meanwhile Chairman of Commerce and vice Chair for the Law Enforcement Division standing Committee Eddie Siapu said, under the current Leadership of Mayor Alference Fatai, it is the executives focus to assist every division within the Council.
With recent outbursts in the Media about the Council, Siapu said the current Government and management are trying their best to address these issues and will continue to carry out their mandated task to improve the Council and to satisfy the demands raised.
