THE University of the South Pacific (USP) Solomon Islands Campus in Honiara annual health week being organised in affiliation with the Ministry of Health starts today.
The one week event will kick-off today til Friday 30th October.
The week-long event is part of the campus (USPSI) focal point aimed at bringing together staff and students with a foremost focus on encouraging, discovering, improving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle on resources.
This year (2015) USP SI Campus health week is about making a vow to its staff and students to recognize healthy lifestyle and its importance. And to realize that, the Campus is organizing a range of health vocation talks, Campus Clean-Up, Campus Director’s Walk, Check-ups etc.
This event will provide students and staff an opportunity to involve in a range of organised activities like one hour walk each day after work and studies, offer an opportunity for students to get more information about health issues that they (students) need to help them live a healthy lifestyle.
The health week will be full of very informative sessions, health and blood drives.
The program is anticipated to provide excitement and enjoyment for staff and students throughout the week.
This is the second time round USP Solomon Islands Campus is organizing the event in partnership with the Ministry of Health, collectively with the Campus (USPSI) Students Association (body) (USPSA).
The concluding event on Friday will see students, staff and family members of USPSI making a six kilometre walk from USP head office at Lawson Tama all the way to Panatina Plaza.
