THE Trade Dispute Panel (TDP) has so far heard about 70 industrial disputes since it started its normal hearing end of last month.
The hearings commenced on October 27 following the appointment of Trade Dispute Panel’s new chairlady, Natalie Kesaka.
She hears industrial grievances twice a week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
On Tuesday, Mrs Kesaka sat with two lady panel members, Joyline Gela from the Solomon Islands Nurse Association representing the employees and Yolanda Yates from the Chamber of Commerce representing the Employers.
Also on the list for upcoming hearings are the Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) and Solomon Islands Water Association (SIWA).
The Trade Dispute Panel has been without a chairman for more than a year after former chairman late Francis Cecil Luza left the office to join the Leadership Code Commission Office.
The post has been vacant until early this month when the appointment was made.
Hearings of industrial disputes have stopped since the Chairman left the office but the office appointed the now Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Kouhota who usually went to hear only urgent and important matters.
