PROSECUTION is ready for the trial on the intimidation charge against the life-timer prisoner released on parole.
Public Prosecutor Margaret Suifa’asia yesterday confirmed to the court of prosecution’s position in relation to the trial.
She said prosecution is ready for the trial on November 30.
Mrs Suifasia however, said her colleague Florence Joel will be doing the trial as she will not be available on that date.
The trial date was fixed on the last occasion after prosecution confirmed they will proceed with the charge despite indication from the Complainant to withdraw the charge.
The accused’s appearance yesterday was excused.
Karawasi Taisia faces a charge of intimidation on which he allegedly committed on a relative.
He was remanded in custody on 1 September this year after he allegedly breached a condition of his Parole Order.
This was after he allegedly committed the offence.
One of the conditions is “the parolee must not violate any law, or being charged with the commission of any offence under Solomon Islands law”.
The paroled life-timer was convicted of murder on 18 April 2002 and was serving a life time jail term at the Rove Correctional Centre.
He was released on parole by the Parole Board on 5 September 2014.
