GUADALCANAL police have arrested an Asian, Richmond Young, for allegedly cutting his de-factor wife’s leg and hand with a kitchen knife at Henderson airport last Wednesday.
Young is the general manager of Treasure Timber Limited and comes from Malaysia.
According to Police, the motive of the attack was “jealousy”.
“We arrested him after the attack and remanded him in our station,” a police spokesman said.
“Today (Friday) we released him to see his lawyer,” he added.
“We are yet to formalize charges on him because we have to go through the Immigration law and Company Haus to see whether he is an over-stayer or not before laying charge on him,” the officer said.
Young’s partner is currently seeking medical attention at National Referral Hospital.
Police believed Young is very influential because he has connections with people in higher offices, which helped him to escape law at times.
However, one of the Police officers said it’s time Young faces the full brunt of law in this country.
