Premier of the Malaita Provincial Government Peter Channel Ramohia has commended the Malaita provincial Police Commander (PPC) in Auki Alfred Uiga and his team for a job well done which saw peaceful celebrations during Christmas and New Year period.
Premier Ramohia said he was very pleased with the performance by Malaita provincial police officers especially in the capital Auki.
He said they did exceptionally well in ensuring prevention of would-be criminal activities during the festive celebrations.
“I thank the chiefs, church leaders and the people of Malaita Province for working together with police to stop criminal activities that can cause disturbance amongst the people of Auki town and the communities.
“I call on the good People of Malaita to maintain that good close cooperation with the Police because that is the only way to curb criminal activities from happening among our communities,” he said.
“I encourage the people of Malaita to maintain this good behavior in order to attract visits by tourists to this part of the world,” he added.
Premier Ramohia further commended the National Government for working together with his provincial government in 2015.
Ramohia said he is looking forward for a similar closer working cooperation this year 2016.
