THE Parliamentary Opposition Group has commended the Government on its decision to discontinue any further association with the Nazar Group.
However, it says the Government must do the same with the Skyline Investment Group.
In a statement, the Parliamentary Opposition said whilst welcoming the Government’s decision to terminate the contract signed with Nazar, it strongly recommended that the same action must also be taken against Skyline Investment Group.
“Like Nazar Company, the Skyline Group is also a scammer with questionable background and connections that promised the Government into a housing scheme for public servants,” the statement said.
“Both are embarrassments to this sovereign nation and the people of this country,” it added.
“Therefore, Skyline must also be shown the exit door and the Government must take a tough stand against scam investors like these two companies.”
The statement adds that the Government also owes the country an apology for signing a deal with investors that could have been detrimental for this country.
“We need to protect our country from con-artists that come as investors and that is why Skyline also needs to be terminated immediately,” it said.
The Opposition statement adds that if the removal of some very prominent political advisors in recent weeks was also related to the investors, then the Government must do the right thing and also terminate all MOU with Skyline forthwith.
“Those advisors that brought these investors in the country must also be terminated for being a disgrace to the Government and people of this country,” it said.
