PARTICIPANTS of the CDF awareness workshop organized at Radefasu commended Transparency Solomon Islands (TSI) for educating constituents about the funds.
More than 18 representatives from wards 21 and 29 of Central Kwara’ae constituency attended the workshop which was held yesterday at Radefasu village.
A participant Clade Maelefoa said the workshop was timely and informative.
“The rural people have been the ones who have a lot of questions on CDF formerly known as RCDF.
“The ignorance of many rural people led them to believe that everything the MPs and CDOs say were true.
“Many of us constituents within Central kwara’ae Constituency did not taste and feel the Constituency Development Fun (CDF).
“What we see and understand in Central Kwara’ae is that only those closer to the MP, some relatives, voters and the CDO are benefitting from the CDF meant for all constituents.
“It was therefore a blessing to have TSI coming to our doorsteps to explain everything clearly to us to understand. Now we will not be blinded by any lies.”
Another voter testified that he had witnessed an incident in Auki a few months ago when voters of the current Central Kwara’ae MP scuffle over Solar panels and batteries.
“It was chaotic and frustrating to many voters because some only grab solar panels without batteries while other grabbed batteries without panels.
“It was funny but there were arguments and disagreements.”
