MALES are dominating the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) third graduation ceremony today.
That was according to the data from the university.
The statement from the university said of the total 51.2 percent are males while 51.2% where as females is 48.8%
It added that although the School of Education and Humanities is by far the school that produces the largest number of graduates, School of Business and Management (SBM) is fast becoming the largest school.
With the introduction of two Bachelor’s Degree Programs (Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Business Entrepreneurship) and several Diploma programs (Diploma in Tourism, Diploma in Hospitality, Diploma in Travels and Tours) SBM already has become the largest school in terms of student numbers.
It said that there are also plans to start a Bachelor of Public Administration Program from early next year.
It is likely that in 2 to 3 years time, SBM will produce the largest number of graduates.
It added School of Natural Resources and Applied Sciences (SNRAS) has introduced a new Certificate and Diploma Programs in Tropical Agriculture and likely to introduce Bachelor’s Degree in Tropical Agriculture from 2017, there will be increased numbers of graduates from SNRAS in the future.
With several more Bachelor’s Degree Programs expected to be approved by the Senate in this year which may include Bachelor’s Degrees in Public Administration, Fisheries, Tropical Agriculture and Primary Teaching, the numbers of Graduates with Bachelor’s Degrees may further increase in the next 3 to 4 years.
