The man who allegedly brutally assaulted his wife will plea to the new charges laid against him tomorrow in the Honiara Magistrates Court.
The man who cannot be named to protect the identity of his wife is now facing three counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, three counts of indecent assault, two counts of intimidation and one count of common assault.
All these new charges replace the initial charge of acts intend to cause grievous harm charges.
He was supposed to take his plea to the new charges last week but his lawyer was not available therefore the matter was adjourned to allow his lawyer to appear in court.
The accused was charged in relation to the allegations on 23 and 24 August 2015 at East Honiara.
He allegedly assaulted his wife following an argument between them that turned violent.
Prosecution alleged he hit his wife’s hand with the blunt end of the knife and also allegedly brutally sexually abused her using objects.
Public Solicitor’s Lawyer Sarah Karani represents the accused while representing the Crown is Public Prosecutor Maito’o Hauirae.
