THE manager and owner of the P.S shipping Service, Hon. Patrick Sarus says that the information release in the media that his company is a ghost is not true.
This was after the country was shocked by revelations issued by Transparency Solomon Islands (TSI) that the Government has allocated $14.8million to eight recipients of the shipping grants whom are ‘ghost companies’ including P.S Shipping Services.
“P.S Shipping Services is not a ghost company as stated in the media but it is a registered company,” Mr Sarus told the Solomon Star yesterday.
TSI needs to do more investigation on this company before putting out in the media like this, he added.
Mr Sarus said that P.S Shipping first operated in 2010 under a name P.S charters.
“During that time, I used to work together with one of my friends to charter ships.
“However the name changed in 2013, when my friend decided to leave and I registered the name P.S Shipping Service that year.”
He said that they are charting ships many times but in 2015, P.S Shipping bought the Solomon 1 from Guadalcanal Province and that is the time they apply for that shipping grant.
“I have my documents to provide my company if TSI wants to see it, please come and see for yourself.”
Mr Sarus urged TSI to do more investigation before putting things in the media like which tarnishes his company’s name.
“This piece of information is misleading and I will do something about why TSI putting my company’s name in the media.”
Mr Sarus said he had already received the money and now his boys are working on repairing the ship at Avi Avi in Ngella.
“I have used the money to buy two engines for the boat. But my question here is that what is the real concern here, TSI is concern about the money or the company?
“Again P.S shipping is not ghost companies as you have said in the media but it’s a registered company that continues to operate in the province to serve my own people,” Mr Sarus added.
He said they can be contacted at Guadalcanal province headquarter if they want more information.
