Auki Police on Thursday started their fitness training with the aim of keeping the police force fit and healthy to execute their duty.
Their training session was formally opened yesterday with three types of self-defenses readily available for the Royal Solomon Islands Police force officers in Auki.
The three forms of self-defense that will be offered to the police are boxing which will be instructed by the Jimmy Misimaki, Operational Safety Tactics (OPT) instructed by Tex Tafoa and Yun Jung Do.
The aim of the fitness and self-defense training is to equip police to handle their respective task in a safe manner which is safe for both officers and citizens against offenders.
Police as a first line of defense to protect the citizens against law offenders should always keep fit and stay alert in their duty and taking fitness self-defense training will boost their morale in the course of their duty.
With the opening of the training yesterday Auki officers have promised to work together with their instructors to achieve the common goal of equipping the officers to handle their duty with confidence and trust from the people.
