RURAL farmers in east Kwara’ae in Malaita province are calling for an urgent repair on a particular part of the Atori road that was destroyed by landslide months ago.
Speaking to Solomon Star a spokesperson for the farmers who want his name withheld said that currently they are affected with their running to selling their produces in Auki.
“We had to board two different vehicles when traveling to Auki and its costing us time and money,” the man said.
“This is a very hard work and sometimes our produces were damaged during that process of unloading and loading,” the spokesperson said.
He said that they want the responsible authorities to quickly fix this particular part so that they can only board one truck from their place to Auki like before.
He added aside from that particular part, bridges too need repair as many timber bridges are rotting now.
“This is causing so we want authorities to do something and not to ignore our call.”
