The pre-trial conference documents in relation to the case of the managing director of the closed mini casino Cyber King; are not yet ready.
Public Prosecutor Bradley Dalipanda informed the court yesterday that documents for the pre-trial conference are yet to be finalised.
He added that the lawyer representing Ting Kwong Hing is also abroad and therefore cannot progress with the completion of the pre-trial conference documents.
Mr Dalipanda sought a 14 day adjournment for pre-trial conference hearing.
He said this is so that documents for the hearing can be finalised and be heard in court on the next court date when the defence counsel Michael Pitakaka of MP Law Chamber is available.
Deputy Chief Magistrate Shepherd Lapo therefore adjourned the matter to August 8.
This is for filing and hearing of the pre-trial conference documents and possibly to set the trial date.
Ting Kwong Hing had on the last court appearance entered not guilty pleas to the charges of unlawful commercial gaming and unlawful possession of instruments for gaming.
His was charged under section 10 of the Gaming and Lotteries Act.
The new mini casino Cyber King that operated at Crossroad, Henderson has been ordered to close its doors on 27 April this year, just days after opening its doors.
This followed a stop notice served to them by the Members of the Gaming and Lottery Board.
This is for allegedly operating unlawfully for the reason that the company has no commercial gaming permit issued by the Gaming and Lotteries Board.
