A Canadian navy on board the Operation Render Safe 2016 has expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and the local communities for their help, during the mission to salvaged war remnants in the country.
Speaking to the Solomon Star recently the Canadian navy said for him as the only person from North America in the operation was a great pleasure and to help the people of Solomon Islands to be safer from the risks of war remnants.
He said it is a challenge for them in their job to go out to remote places in the Solomon to retrieve explosive ordinances that were left under water or in land for safe detonation.
He added now they have managed to destroy thousands of this World War II bombs, thus believing that people here are more safer than before, after their visit here.
“I like to thank the RSIPF and the local people of Solomon Islands for their support in leading us to where we salvaged many of these things,” he uttered.
“Without their help we won’t be able to successfully dispose thousand of these war remnants,” he concluded.
