A POLICE officer who was involved in a road incident in which a child was killed has been suspended while investigations continue.
That was according to acting police commissioner Juanita Matanga.
The incident occurred at Vura road last Tuesday afternoon.
Ms Matanga said the officer was suspended to allow an independent investigation to be carried out.
“We will carry out a thorough investigation in this matter,” she assured.
Ms Matanga said police want to make sure those involved face the proper channel of investigation.
She said they are yet to determine an outcome so she will not talk much on the issue.
“We will wait until the outcome of this case before we will inform the media so that the public knows what happened to that case.”
