THE political impasse that shook the nation few weeks ago has calmed down following calls from political leaders to have the matter settle.
A source within the government confirmed that “the impasse is over”.
Therefore, he said there will be no disturbance to parliament proceedings, currently underway.
The source thanked the Opposition group and other party leaders of the coalition for ensuring that this matter was put to rest.
The source said the issue facing the government now was how the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) will advance its policies to achieve some of its goals and objectives within its remaining months before the next national elections.
The political impasse last month was after the United Democratic Party revoked the membership of Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare following alleged complaints by other coalition partners about the non-performance by the DCC government under the leadership of Mr Sogavare.
