Marist FC has ended its friendly match against a tough Honiara Select Side with a 3-0 win at the Lawson Tama Stadium on Wednesday.
Marist’s senior player, Abraham Iniga scored a hat trick to give Marist their win in the first of two friendly matches scheduled between the two teams.
He scored two goals in the first half and one later in the second half.
Despite three unanswered goal, the win did not come easy as Marist had to push hard through the Select side defensive wall to find the back of the net.
The Honiara Select side comprise of Telekom S-league (TSL) players and have displayed a strong play, however just could not find the right combination up front to score goals.
The second friendly match is scheduled for this Saturday at 4pm.
These friendly matches are organized to help Marist with their preparation for the upcoming Oceania Champions League.
