The Honiara Football Association (HFA) has successfully staged the prize presentation of the 2016 league for both men and women’s last night at the Lawson Tama stadium.
Winning teams for both men and women’s league were full of excitement when they finally received their prizes for their hard work and commitment during the 2016 league.
The event was graced with the presence of Deputy Speaker of the national parliament Andrew Manepora representing the DCC government and other invited guests.
CDL Lekas FC scooped the first prize of the men’s premier division with $20,000 cash, a trophy and 30 gold medals, followed by Realas FC on second spot who received $15,000 cash plus 30 silver medals and on third place was KOSSA FC who received $10,000 plus 30 bronze medals.
For division 1 CY Strikers walked away with $15,000 cash a trophy and 30 golden medals for being the champions, their runner up was Henderson Eels who received $10,000 cash plus 30 silver medals while Kukum Bombers received the $5000 cash plus 30 bronze medals for the third prize.
For division 2 G-Camp United are champions who snatched a top prize $15,000 cash and a trophy plus 30 gold medals, followed by Walas Fc who received $10,000 while Three United received $5000 cash plus 30 bronze medals.
For women’s division both the league and championship Koloale FC are the overall champions after winning both leagues.
They walked away with $8000 cash in total, $4000 for the league while another $4000 for the championships.
Their runner up was Solomon Warriors FC who snatched both second prizes for both leagues. They received $6000 cash, $3000 each for both league and championships while Junior Flamingo claimed the third spot with a total of $4000 for both league and championship.
Meanwhile HFA Executive thanked all teams who took part on their leagues last year as well as business and stakeholder who supported them last year.
