A NUMBER of Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and Participating Police Force (PPF) officers are in the Roviana Lagoon, Western Province to hunt down the number of crocodiles.
Supervising Police Commissioner Juanita Matanga speaking at the Police Commissioner’s weekly conference on Thursday, said police are concern with the increasing sighting of crocodiles as well as the death related to crocodile attacks.
In response to that Police has sent their PPF counterparts and the RSIPF to deal with the issue of crocodile in the area, Ms Matanga said.
More than a weeg ago an eight year-old girl who was found inside the stomach of a huge crocodile at Rorosi village, in Roviana lagoon after she was snatched by the monster.
Ms Matanga advised villagers to talk to their kids to stay away from river mouths to avoid the same thing happening again.
The incident occurred when the deceased and two other girls were out swimming by the river mouth.
