The 2016 Bulk Shop Futsal League was officially launched at the Multipurpose Hall yesterday.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, George Palua, officiated at the launch.
More than 20 teams participated in the opening ceremony, which started with a uniform parade by all participating teams.
This was followed by speeches from some of prominent figures, including the president of the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF), William Lai, the president of the Solomon Islands Sports Coalition (SISC) and Bulk Shop representative, Sandra Bartlett.
Teams with the best uniforms were awarded with prizes.
However, there were no matches played since the Multipurpose Hall was used to host the finals of the Wantok Cup Futsal Challenge competition.
The league comprises of three age categories namely the U10, 12, 14 and U16.
All categories have both male and female teams except of the U16.
