Solomon Islands defending club Champions, Marist Football Club has signed up Solomon Islands most capped player, the national team captain and veteran midfielder, Henry Fa,arodo Junior.
The signing was confirmed on Monday by Marist Head Coach, Juliano Schmeling.
This is Marist’s first major signing since Marist’s participation in the OFC Champions League.
His inclusion will be a boost to the already star studded but young Marist team.
Schmeling believes Fa’arodo’s inclusion is a bonus for Marist in the next TSL season.
“I think it____s very positive for the club, he will add more experience, leadership and discipline to our group,” he said.
Fa’arodo recently joined Western United FC in the past two seasons which he help put United back in the OFC Champions League.
He has a wealth of experience from his past experiences.
He attended Nelson College from 2000 to 2001, playing for the school____s 1st XI football team as well as local club side Nelson Suburbs.
He is one of few Solomon Islands players who have played in Australian top-flight football for Perth Glory in the first A-League season and for the Melbourne Knights in the old NSL.
He joined Victorian Premier League side Altona Magic after a stint in New Zealand.
In May 2010, he won the Oceania Champions League with Hekari United.
In January 2012, Fa____arodo linked up with Team Wellington in the ASB Premiership.
He has frequently represented the Solomon Islands at international level, making his debut at the 2002 OFC Nations Cup against Tahiti.
He played in 16 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.
Henry was chosen as a starter on the Oceania All Stars team that faced the LA Galaxy in 2008 in New Zealand.
Just recently he helped Western United finish as runner ups in the TSL competition.
