ONE of the most active charitable organisations in Malaita province has been recognised for its work.
Hearts of Hope (HOH) will soon own its own vehicle to conduct their outreach programs in the province.
The support through a three tonne vehicle will now strengthen and extend HOH’s charitable outreach program to communities in Malaita.
The vehicle is funded by the Solomon Forest Association at a cost more than $200,000 to help HOH with their outreach in the province.
The support was made possible by Madam Emmy Sogavare who is the main promoter and supporter of the charitable group.
The Solomon Forest Association responded immediately to the request after Madam Sogavare shared with the association HOH’s challenges in carrying out their work as well as the importance their role in serving the orphans and the elderly in the communities of Malaita.
Speaking to the Solomon Star president HOH charitable group president Janet Aihari said the group is very happy to hear the news and to see their new vehicle already transported to Auki early this week.
She the dream to have such an important asset has now been fulfilled and is now a reality.
“HOH members and workers are happy to hear that good news.”
She said the new vehicle will boost the work of HOH in reaching out to orphans and widows in Malaita province.
The new vehicle has already arrived in Auki and will be handed over to HOH by Solomon Forest Association and Madam Emmy Sogavare.
Madam Sogavare told the Solomon Star in Auki that she has helped HOH in the proposal for the vehicle project which has resulted in the delivery of the new vehicle.
The date for the handing over of the vehicle is yet to be confirmed.
