Dear Editor – We all understand that the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI) is about to leave our shores.
What does “Happy Isles” simply means to this land that our great ancestors then remain faithful to their wisdom of cultures and traditions and willingly accept Christianity in order to see far beyond the barriers of ethnicity?
The simple message after RAMSI departs is crystal clear to love God and to love our neighbours, as ourselves.
This is a huge challenge for all of us to bear in mind at all times.
The good Lord once told his followers that “Peace” I leave with you, my “Peace” I give unto you.
In other words peace and unity belongs to God as his Son prays that you (God) and I, (Jesus) are one.
Let me share a brief biblical reflection to see that the good Lord sat at God’s right hand and gave him the crown of glory and authority to defeat the evils in the heavenly kingdom down to earth and right across the face of this land we will continue to see and hear bad news about the earthly kingdom.
But those who love God and remain faithful to the end will have nothing to fear.
In order to maintain peace in our nation Solomon Islands it must begin at homes.
Homes should be free from domestic violence and abuse of gender values in traditions and Christian basics.
As long as human beings continue to exist on the face of this land; problems would continue to be part of what life really means to all of us.
But what matters most is how to understand and make decisions to solve problems.
It doesn’t mean that after (RAMSI) Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands leaves the shores of this land; there will be no problems.
Basically all of us must learn not to create problems.
There are legal avenues in the government, churches, and communities that people must not take the law into their own hands.
Well done RAMSI. You have done pretty well indeed.
