Two of our local football referees have officiated in the World Cup qualifier match between Fiji and New Caledonia in Lautoka, Fiji on Wednesday.
They are Bernard Mutukera and George Time.
Mutukera was assigned as the second assistant referee while Time was the fourth official.
The match which ended in a 2-all draw yesterday was under the control of Referee Kader Zitouni of Tahiti. The other assistant referee was Sione Teu of Tonga.
The duo’s appointment had seen the increasing number of local referees who have been officiating in FIFA sanctioned matches around the region.
