SOLOMON Islands national futsal team head coach Jerry Sam has named his final travelling squad for the 5th Asian Indoor games.
Speaking to Star Sports yesterday, Sam said after weeks of trails and training, he has decided to select the 11 players who will represent the country in Turkmenistan this month.
“After watching the players in training and trails against the Junior Kurukuru national side, I am satisfied to pick my best 11 players.
“I understand that Asian teams are on another level as they play a much faster game.
“All the players we select are surely based on our game plan.
“At the moment we have 15 players and only the selected 11 will make the trip to Turkmenistan.
“The non-travellers will continue train with the rest of the squad and are welcome back into the fold went we return as we’re preparing for the next FIFA World Cup,” the Kurukuru coach stated.
Team manager, Glen Buka told Star Sports the national side is a new look team which consist of both old and new players.
