MALAITA Province Premier, Peter Ramohia urges church leaders and followers to take up responsibility when dealing with issues of religion.
This came after reports that a row happened between members of the so-called church movement, ‘Message of Kingdom’ and their opposition at Hulikaho near Maoro village in Central Kwara’ae, Malaita province on Wednesday.
This happened after a prophesy made by the movement that the ground would open up and new houses and wealth would come up did not eventuate on Tuesday 16th of January.
Premier Ramohia said even though there is a freedom of worship and religion, people have to take responsibilities.
He said if there is no responsibility, it can force people to turn against each other.
“I hope that the leaders and chiefs in the community work together to sort out the disputes,” he added.
Furthermore, Ramohia said the province had its fair share of issues in the past already.
He said it is not good to add salt on the wound again because it will only stir the problem up.
It is understood police in Auki had responded to curl the situation on Wednesday already.
