Permanent Secretary (PS) of the Ministry Agriculture and Livestock (MAL) Jimi Saelea has urged the three recipients of RDP II Component 2 to take care of the brand new vehicles they’ve been given.
Mr Saelae stressed this during the handing over ceremony held at the ministry’s head office, Honiara, Tuesday.
“I would like on behalf of the MAL, Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Finance and the RDP funding partners, encourage the recipients of these vehicles to use them wisely to enhance your activities,” he said.
Tupaghota Cocoa Partnership from North Guadalcanal, EF Farmers Support Network from of East Malaita, East Fataleka and DME Rela Crushing Mill of Central Kwara’ae, Malaita province were given a three tonne truck each under the RDP II Component 2.
“Look after these vehicles and I am sure you will see the benefits in the growth of your business activities.”
He stressed with the business partnership arrangement, it is in the best interest of all partners to ensure cordial working relationships exist as it is a win-win game for all.
“The success of the lead partner depends on the success of the producers or partners.
“Therefore with these vehicles provided to meet transport needs, respective partners are expected to see improvement in output through increased volumes in coconut oil, cocoa beans and copra,” he said.
