PRESIDENT of the Solomon Islands National University Students Association (SINUSA) Reginald Ngati is appealing to students to behave well during the course of their sitting protest today.
Mr Ngati said that if SINU council doesn’t want to address their demands, they will stage another peace sitting protest today and he wants every student to behave well.
“Don’t get drunk during the protest or damage any property because SINU belongs to us the students.
“Every lecturer or whoever with whatever title at SINU is here only because of you.”
Mr Ngati reminded the students that its a peaceful sitting protest and they must cooperate together and work towards their goal that SINU must sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to address their issues of concern.
He said police will be around to make sure that the protest if happens today must be a truly peaceful.
Mr Ngati also appeals to every student to attend and join the protest because it is for their benefit.
He told the Solomon Star yesterday that the protest will start at 9am today at Kukum Campus.
They will march up to the Vice chancellor office and stayed to demand the SINU council to address their demands.
