The newly appointed Malaita provincial Minister for Local Government and Community Development Fred Wai has thanked Premier Peter Ramohia for choosing him to take up the post.
Wai said this after he was sworn -in to replace Michael Maeliau, who resigned from the government early this month.
Wai acknowledged the MART government for the trust and faith they placed on him.
And he assured Malaitans that he will do his best to deliver in the remaining five months of the Ramohia government.
This means that Malaita provincial government may continue to maintain its solidarity for the rest of the remaining months before the new provincial election in December this year.
Wai explained that the appointment came at a very short time where it may not easy for him to address major issues of development for his ward, people and province.
He revealed that at this remaining short time he will continue with the construction of Mini hospital at Manaoba, which he believes may address the major health problems in Lau lagoon area of ward 12.
Funding for the Mini Hospital was sourced from Malaita Province Capacity Development Fund (PCDF).
“I want to see the Mini hospital comes to completion.
“This mini hospital will become the major health centre in Lau lagoon and it will benefit the people. It will serve people as far as Dai island and Tarana in Lau lagoon,” Wai stated.
