OFFICERS of the Correctional Service Solomon Islands (CSSI) are urged to utilise their newly acquired skills.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Police, National Security and Correctional Services (CSSI) Karen Qalokale made the reminder on Friday.
This was when more than 20 officers were awarded with certificates after completing their Queensland corrective services studies.
“I am sure and would like to call on the graduating officers to utilse the skills and knowledge acquired during the training,” Ms Qalokale said.
“I am certain the skills and knowledge that officers acquired in these sequences of professional courses offered since 2016, will surely equip officers to be innovative and collaborative in their approach to deliver correctional services and programs in the institution,” she added.
“Officers can also continue to expand by making use of their networks for a professional administration and management of correctional services and activities.”
MsQalokale said that the government through her ministry is fully supportive and recognises the strength and benefits in developing networks, both locally and internationally.
“I would like thank the government of Australia for supporting CSSI in its capacity building by making it possible for a large number of officers to take the courses.
“It is such a great and timely assistance to CSSI as the ministry strives to develop the correctional institution.
“I hope this somehow addresses some of the important areas that we would like to deal with them for a long time.”
