There are reports of damages in Malu’u in the Northern region of Malaita province and in Simbo in the Western province, due to the current bad weather being experienced in the country.
The Solomon Islands Meteorological service through its Facebook page reported that trees had been uprooted in Malu’u in Malaita province and a building has had its roof blown off on Sunday.
Meanwhile a strong wind warning number seven was issued at 4pm on Sunday which is current for most waters of the Solomon Islands.
Southwest to Northwest winds of 15 to 25 knots (28-46 km/h) are expected over most provinces reaching 30 knots (55 km/h) at times.
Seas are moderate to rough with moderate swells (2.5 -4.0 meters) over most waters.
The SI Meteorologica service is warning sea travelers to take precautionary measures as these strong winds have the potential of producing dangerous wave conditions which are hazardous to small boats.
A heavy rain warning number 7 has also been issued, warning the public of continuous rain in the next few days.
