AT the close of nominations for the Honiara City Council (HCC) Election 95 candidates have submitted their names to contest.
Nomination has officially closed, as of 4:30pm yesterday afternoon.
Returning Officer Vincent Kohata said a good number of intending candidates came forward and handed their submissions.
“As of closing time, I can confidently say that we have received a good number of submissions from those who will be contesting the upcoming HCC election.
“Our office has received a total of 95 submissions from intending candidates, from all 12 wards in the City,” Kohata said.
The Returning Officer further said that the ballot draw has been rescheduled and will happen today, Thursday 25th April.
The HCC Election is set for 22nd May 2019.
