Well known gospel reggae band Christafari touched down at Gwounaru’u airport in Auki, Malaita Province, Wednesday afternoon.
The band will put on two shows at the Auki primary school field for the public free of charge offering fans and Christians in Malaita a chance of a lifetime to witness the band play live on stage.
Christafari front man Mark Mohr expressed his happiness as he and his band members met and greeted fans at the airport before leaving to Auki motel where they will be staying for the next two days.
The band was met by traditional warriors on arrival, supporters, Friends of Christafari and local fans at Gwounaru’u airport at around 5:00pm.
According to Friends of Chirstafari, the group that responsible for the successful arrangement for the band to come over and perform here in Malaita, the band will put on two shows in Auki, one this evening starting at 6pm and final show on Friday also at 6pm.
Today the band will take a courtesy visit to the Malaita Provincial Chamber at around 9am this morning.
The band will also take a tour to Kilu’ufi hospital at 10am and later visit Kilusakwalo Christian Community High School.
At 1pm today, the band will tour Auki township before their first show at 6:00pm at the Auki field.
Also accompanying the Christafarai band is the Vanuatu gospel sensational Vanessa Quai who will be also performing along side the band.
Christafari fans in Malaita are looking forward for two great gospel reggae shows which the American based gospel reggae band will put on .
This is the third that the Chirstafari reggae band visited Solomon Islands, however, this is its first time to visit Malaita Province where Mr.Mohr said it’s good to finally arrived in Malaita.
