UP to 90 new wheelchairs will be delivered to hospitals and health centres across the country.
These were donated by the Loving Care Group of Buddha’s Light International Association of Queensland (BLIAQ) and were handed over to the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.
Minister of Health and Medical Services Dickson Mua,NRH Superintendent Dr John Hue and other health officials received the donation on Monday.
44 wheelchairs will be delivered to the hospitals – 20 for the National Referral Hospital, four for Good Samaritan Hospital and five each for Kilu’ufi, Atoifi, Buala and Gizo hospitals.
Another 46 will be shared among the provincial health centres – four each for Guadalcanal and Honiara City Council, five each for Malaita and Choiseul, eight for Western Province, six each for Central and Makira and two each for Temotu and Renbel.
