Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) are investigating a death incident at Vatubulu Primary School in East Central Guadalcanal on 28 September 2019.
Police Criminal Investigating Officer (PCIO) Guadalcanal Province, Inspector Hughes Nevol says, “On the night of Saturday 28 September 2019, the complainant, deceased and other two boys were consuming alcohol. According to information received, the deceased and the other boys went to smoke close to a sloppy area side about ten meters high when all of a sudden the deceased fell onto the sloppy area.”
Inspector Nevol says, “According to the information received, the others searched for the deceased in the early hours of 28 September 2019 but were unable to locate him until morning when they discovered his body. It is alleged he may have died after he fell on the sloppy area because they discovered a cut on the back of his head.”
Inspector Nevol adds: “The deceased is from a coastal area at Longu in East Central Guadalcanal and he was employed as a security guard at the School.”
“Police are currently investigating the death incident and ask anyone who may have any information about the incident to assist police. My condolence to the family of the deceased during this time of sorrow,” says Inspector Nevol.
“I call on both families where the incident happen between them to refrain from taking the law in to your own hands. Allow police to investigate the matter and bring it before the court.”
