The Malaita Provincial Premier Daniel Suidani says the switch to China is not in the best interest of the country.
Premier Suidani said just by looking at the list of business people traveling with Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare one can clearly see Chinese businesses that are behind the switch to China.
“If the switch is in the best interest of the country we should have indigenous prominent business houses part of the delegation.
“Have you seen the signs, the rush switch is not in the best interest of our people
“Why is it so difficult to include our indigenous business people in the trip?
“Why overlooked our indigenous business houses in such important trip.
“I’m pretty sure that the switch is in the best interest of the Chinese business houses in the country and the 27 MPs who have voted for the switch,” he said.
He said the absence of indigenous business houses in the trip should raise alarm that the switch is not for a common good, but for the good of a small network of interested people who used the country for their personal gain.
