THE country’s national men’s futsal team, Kurukuru has ended their second international friendly clash with another close match.
Kurukuru were once again edged by a goal difference by the Australian national futsal team, Futsalroos 3-2 in their second and final friendly match at the Valentines Sports Park yesterday afternoon.
Former Kurukuru star Jack Wetney was also included for the friendly matches as a guest player.
This is part of their final preparation for the OFC Futsal Championship which also serves as the World Cup Qualifiers.
Having these friendly matches gave the Kurukuru boys the opportunity to test their strength against a top team like the Futsalroos.
Kurukuru utmost aim is to defend the title as the Oceania champions and by the results shown from these two friendly matches, they are in a very top position to defend their title.
The team will spend the next few days in Australia before heading to New Caledonia for the OFC Futsal Championship.
Many futsal fans and followers last night congratulated the boys and the team management via the social media for the impressive result in the lead up to the OFC championship.
