President of the Solomon Islands Mission (SIM) of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church Pastor Silent Tovosia has acknowledged the united support rendered to SIM to be able to host the 2019 TPUM Pathfinder camporee.
He made the acknowledgement when speaking at the opening of the Camporee in Honiara, last Tuesday.
“We thank the almighty God for his wonderful grace and blessings for putting in his people’s hands the means in their hearts the desire to support the development of this camporee venue.
“For the achievement of the camporee venue as it is now would have been possible without the support and involvement of so many kind hearted people in the church, outside the church in the government leadership in parliament, in the private sector, in State owned enterprises and local business houses.
“Our gratitude goes to you all,’’ said Pr. Tovosia.
During the opening ceremony Church also presents a certificate of appreciation to their representatives present at the ceremony.
Pr Tovosia also acknowledges the Trans Pacific Union Mission (TPUM) for their support guidance and trust in SIM to host the special international event.
He adds that it is the intention of the church that the Camporee ground will be a permanent venue for the worship to God.
“We believe that the development of this camp ground is in line with the Will of God for the church in Solomon Islands.
“The natural environment and surroundings will allow churches and families to come for rest and relaxation and healing from hustles and bustles of the Honiara city life.
“We will strive to improve the facilities for the teaching especially for our youths and families on the word of God as well as the church ethos and world views.
“It will provide the venue for local churches camps retreats for churches not only in Honiara but all throughout Solomon Islands as these are some of our aspirations for the future of he camp ground,’’ said Pr. Tovosia.
