THE election petition case lodged against the MP for Gela, Bartholomew Parapolo has been dismissed, Thursday in the High Court.
Justice Leonard Maina dismissed the eight grounds of bribery and two counts of undue influence against the Gela MP due to insufficient evidence after a trial.
Following the judgment, Mr Parapolo retains his seat as the MP for the Gela constituency.
Choylyn Douglas who polled 2,122 votes in the National General Election, last April, filed the petition against her winning rival, Parapolo who won 2,512 votes.
The High Court at the moment had just completed the hearing evidence into the election petition lodged against MP for East Kwaio, Festus Stanley Sofu.
The closing submissions into this petition case was done yesterday after the two-day trial was completed on Wednesday.
Chief Justice Sir Albert Palmer after Friday’s hearing of the final submissions had reserved his judgment.
