FOUR Traditional Chiefs from Isabel Province has visited Rove Central Correctional Centre (RCCC), Thursday this week.
The visit was made possible under the CSSI Act 2007, Section 30. ‘Visits by religious representatives, traditional elders and respected persons within the Correctional Centres’’.
CSSI Commissioner Gabriel Manelusi has approved this Isabel Traditional Elders to make a visit at Rove Central Correctional Centre.
A CSSI statement confirmed that members of the delegation include, Chairman Khabu House of Chief Chief Wilson Tuhula, Senior Chief Khabu House of Chief: Chief Robert Howard, Havulei Community Elder Chief: Chief Miletus Kelitagu, and Katova Senior Chief: Chief Moses Kauku.
This is for them to have firsthand information about Correctional Centres and how they can be innovative and educate our community especially our young youths, said Manelusi
He adds, this education visit will be extended to elders within the Honiara City, Guadalcanal and other Provinces. The whole idea is to develop and educate our inmates to be an asset for our nation Solomon Islands.
Meanwhile Chief Wilson Tuhula acknowledge the CSSI Commissioner and his Executives, Commandant RCCC, Managements and Officers for the visit and looking forward to work in partnership, as chiefs are the forefront in our communities to mitigate unwanted activities.
