MALAITA Province Premier Daniel Suidani has sacked four ministers of his Malaita Alliance for Rural Advancement (MARA) government for failing to perform their duties.
The four-sacked ministers are; minister for Forestry, Mines, Energy, Environment Management, & Conservation Martin Mae, minister for Land Administration, Reform, Survey, Housing Danny Mana Siau, minister of Commerce, Industry, Tourism and Trade Ezekiel Teusa and minister of Eastern Region Alick Butala.
The four ministers received their termination letters on January 24 last month.
According to Premier Daniel Suidani, the four-sacked ministers failed to perform their duties as required under their portfolios.
Premier Suidani said the four ministers failed to attend important meetings in the past sittings.
“As ministers, it is a requirement for them to attend meetings.
“The executive meetings and assembly meetings are important because it is the only place and avenue to discuss matters relating to the province,” Suidani explained.
He added that the lack of attendance by these sacked ministers in important meetings is an indication that they have commitments elsewhere.
“The executive needs MPAs’ who take their portfolios seriously.”
The Malaita premier maintained that the sacking of the four ministers is done in the best interest of the province.
