Dear Editor – The subject above strikes me to share my concern with the public.
Knowing China as a threat to every neighbouring country including the Pacific for Coronavirus, I have great concern for this country.
The Solomon Islands is highly at risk to this virus as it continues to spread since we are filled with Asians doing business here.
Visitors come into our country every day and the possibilities of having this virus transfer is very high.
We do not know the capabilities of this virus in our climate.
Don’t think that the Solomon Islands cannot be affected because we are far from the affected countries and can withstand the virus through local or custom medicines.
Coronavirus does not have sympathy and custom to respect who so ever or what qualifications you held and it will not grade any country.
I urge that the controls from immigrations and quarantines department with the WHO must be effective in reigns for the country’s safety.
Whatever strategies our government has prepared for us people if we are under attack by this virus must also the one we can count on.
As we know our hospitals and clinics are under ‘medicine and medical equipment’ shortage and for us to face this deadly virus is something we will surely suffer from.
Therefore, it bounces back to the public and our good people to take precautions to contain the virus.
We must be ready as individuals and take possible measures by tuning in to every conceivable broadcast for advice to prevent the cause.
God bless our people and our country, Solomon Islands.
