A MAN who confessed to traffic offences laid against him early this month has been fined a total of $4,050 yesterday in the Honiara Magistrate’s Court.
Amos Manasseh was sentenced after pleading guilty to the charges of failing to display vehicle license, motor vehicle to be licensed, motor vehicle to be insured, and driving without a driver’s license.
He was arrested and charged after police caught him during a traffic check conducted next to the Supreme Casino at Kukum on April 7.
Magistrate Emily Zazariko Vagibule imposed a fine of $1,300 for each of those charges except for the charge of a motor vehicle to be insured which she imposed a fine of $150.
Those charges were ordered to run consecutive which resulted in a total fine of $4,050 in default of six months imprisonment.
Manasseh has until May 4 to pay up his fine.
Failure to pay up the fine by the due date will result in six-month imprisonment.
Manasseh represented himself in court while Police Prosecutor Rodney Waokea appeared for the Crown.
