HONIARA Rugby Union Association (HRUA) will kick off its league on Saturday 1st August.
President, Brain Taupiri in a statement appeals to all clubs to pay up their registration and affiliation fees before the deadline.
He said HRUA is ready to start the league after the coronavirus pandemic disturbed the initial plan to start it around March.
“We have applied to the Oversight Committee in the Prime Minister Office to get their approval.
“However, verbally, we have already given the green light to continue with the league,” Taupiri said.
Taupiri said HRUA sees the need to start the league because the state of public emergency will also lapse on 25th March.
Seven clubs that participated in the league last year are reminded to register this year.
They are Matangiki, Avaiki, TIA Warriors, Islanders, Henderson Hammer Heads, Diesel and SOSA.
The registration fee per club is $3000.
The Affiliation fee is $100.
In Division A, the registration fee is $1500.
However, if a club has two teams participating in the main league and Division A, a special registration fee of $4000 applies.
Clubs are also reminded to provide their list of players during registration for verification purposes.
HRUA is expecting to release the final fixtures this week.
In the meantime, HRUA in collaboration with Solomon Islands Rugby Union Federation (SIRUF) is running a FAIR training programme for each representative of different clubs at Town Ground rugby stadium in a date to be confirmed.
