DEFENDING champions Henderson Eels FC maintains the top spot of the Telekom S-league (TSL) with six points following their second consecutive win of the season at Lawson Tama, Saturday.
Eels proved too strong for the young Southern United side as they led the first half with a 4-0 lead before adding another four goals in the second half, while United managed to score one goal.
Leading goal scorer Raphael Lea’i was on target again scoring five goals to give him a total of nine goals from two matches played.
Timothy Bakale scored a brace and Tutizama scored one goal to give Eels their second goal galore win with an impressive 15 goal difference.
The second match yesterday saw Laugu secured their second win defeating debutants Kula FC 4-1.
Laugu were stunned by an early goal from the newcomers but made a quick comeback to level the score followed shortly by their second goal before the half time break.
The Luke Eroi led side extended their lead with another two goal later in the second half.
Laugu sits on the second spot with six points and a goal difference of six.
Yesterday’s opening match saw Vfresh Isabel United and Honiara City FC share the spoils with a 2-2.
Vfresh Isabel United is on the third spot with four points while Honiara City moved up to the seventh spot with one point.
Matches will continue today featuring Central Coast FC and Real Kakamora FC at 12noon, Waneagu FC and KOSSA FC at 2pm and former champions Solomon Warriors FC will play Marist FC at 4pm.
