THE recent Iumi Play Sponsorship by the Solomon Power aligns with the Solomon Power vision on nation building and community service obligations.
This was revealed by the Solomon Power Board Chairman, David Quan in his remarks during the launching of the Iumi Play program.
Quan highlighted that the program will play a very important role for the future leaders of the country.
“We are much honored to be rendered the opportunity by SIFF to help support the ‘Iumi Play’ program.
“This very much aligns with our vision and mission; we are about nation building as well as our community service obligations.
“We are part of the community; we are a State Owned Enterprise that has the biggest representation, in terms of our geographical spread representation as well as our presence throughout the country.
“So it is only fitting that we have this partnership with SIFF so that we can roll out together with the government and other stakeholders.
“This is to empower and prepare our kids, our future leaders of this country, so that they are fit, disciplined and have a sense of purpose, whether it be in football, or any other sports or discipline in the future,” he said.
Quan highlighted the sponsorship is a huge investment for Solomon Power and gave credit to all Solomon Power customers, employees and the country as a whole.
He described the Iumi Play Grassroot program as a very important program.
“It is not only about the financial investment, it is the investment for the future leaders of this country.
“This program is for kids all throughout the country.
“Thank you SIFF, the government and other stakeholders for the collaboration,” he added.
The Iumi Play Grassroot program was officially launched by the President of the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF), William Lai.
The launching followed a signing of the one million sponsorship agreement between SIFF and Solomon Power three weeks ago in Auki, Malaita province.
