NO LOCAL students studying in various institutions in Papua New Genuine (PNG) have been infected by the COVID-19 virus.
That’s according to the Permanent Secretary (PS) for the Ministry of Education Human Resources and Development (MEHRD) Dr Franco Rodie.
He was speaking during the OPMC talk back show on the national broadcaster, Sunday at SIBC.
“Since we have heard about the spread of COVID-19 in PNG, no students have been infected by the corona virus and that is really good,” he said.
He said the local students in PNG have made arrangement to have vaccines so that they can be protected.
He further revealed that in Manila, Philippines there are five (5) students, a couple, their two kids and the two self-sponsored students in a private institution.
“They have their visas problem. But the good news, none of the students are infected with the COVID-19 virus,” he said.
Solomon Island Government through Ministry of Education is still taking care of the welfare of the students who are studying abroad.
