Deputy Prime Minister Manasseh Maelanga has reiterated his call for Malaita leaders to come together in dialogue to talk about issues that need addressing.
In a nationwide address last night, Mr Maelanga said the government want leaders of Malaita in the government, the opposition and the province to have a dialogue to sort the issues of concerned.
He also appealed to the people of Malaita to calm down and stop from the violent activities in the city.
“…we know things have already happened, properties are already down so I want to call once again to stop from the things.
“I want to call on all leaders to come so that we can talk together and look at issues that we need to talk about.
Mr. Maelanga also made the call on Monday.
“The government is here for us to sit down again together and address issues rather than for us to destroy our city of Honiara,” Mr Maelanga said.
“To my good people of Malaita please let us also respect the people of other provinces who also live in Honiara City.”
