A PRIVATE vessel travels to Malaita Outer Island (MOI) in the past week without the authorization of the responsible authorities.
This was revealed on Sunday during the talk-back show after an islander from MOI questioned why a vessel is in port at MOI but fail to bring any health team.
Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau said the boat was not exempted to travel to MOI.
He said the National Oversight Committee became only when the boat set sail.
“The trip is not authorized,” Commissioner Mangau said.
This means no passengers are allowed to board the vessel and travel back to Honiara.
It’s understood the owner of the vessel and the captain are expected to be questioned by authorities.
